It is clear that the Onxy values their customers and wants them to have an excellent stay. Overall, the entire staff was friendly, courteous and truly helpful. The bellhops were amazing, storing our bags and helping with all our needs. The concierge was very helpful recommending restaurants that were an easy walking distance (the Italian restaurants in the North End were fabulous), and other fun activities. I did need these and it was so nice to have a hotel anticipate my needs before I even had to ask. Next, she asked if I would also need ice and plastic bags, so I could ice my foot. When I checked in, to my surprise, the first thing the front desk attendant asked me was how my foot was and that extra pillows would be sent to my room. I had broken my foot and would need extra pillows to elevate it. When booking my reservation online, I filled in the additional comments section, not expecting that anyone would actually read it. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay again. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond any expectations. Unless you absolutely need your own wheels, get Uber from Logan and spend the rest on lobster. The nearby Government Center gets pricey for an overnight stay when there's an event on, I paid $60 for overnight parking, while valet was "only" $49. It's set in a back street and does not have a parking garage. Location is good, very close to Faneuil Hall and all the touristy stuff. In summary the hotel is trying too hard and I think this is a distraction technique to stop people from recognizing that it's simply a standard hotel. I put skepticism aside and did so, and although I found a handwritten welcome note in my room, along with a few chocolates, I didn't find any sign of my wife. My stay started off quirky - the hotel emailed a few days prior to arrival asking me to send a photo of a loved one - even a four-legged furry friend - as they would do their best to make sure that person was there to greet me.
Although I'm a Hilton Diamond member, I won't be staying at this hotel again in the future.Being British, maybe I was bound to be disappointed with some good old fashioned service as promised by this proudly Bostonian hotel. I'm really surprised at the attitude of this hotel's staff. Apparently, I was supposed to know that the remote only works if you are pointing it directly at the bottom right-hand corner of the TV. He got annoyed at me and said that I'm not using the remote control correctly. I called the front desk, and they sent their electrician.

After that, my TV remote control wasn't working consistently. When I asked further as to what I should do then, they said that there's shower gel in the shower that I could use. I called the front desk, and they simply said that the hotel was out of hand soap. In my bathroom, there wasn't any hand soap for the sink. Unfortunately, that's kind of where the good stops. The good part of the Onyx is its location, namely its proximity to North Station, Faneuil Hall, and Quincy Market. its about a 25 minute wait." While the poor attempt at humor would normally be appreciated, I just tried to call you multiple times AND I was already hangry. The response "No, but I can put you on a list. Decided to go down to the front desk to request that my car be brought around. Called a total of 4 times with no answer. Day of checkout, I call down to have my car brough over from valet parking. The staff did not seem interested in being of assistance. My daughter made the joke that the owners spent their "per room budget" on the bathrooms alone.
The bathroom (while small) was beautiful. The room had tiniest in room fridge which kept everything about a degree less than room temperature. It is obvious that there is a remodel underway, no issue there, but that is no excuse for the poor amenities. The location is perfect if you are attending an event at the Garden.
